Associate Security Analyst

Mimecast is seeking an Associate Security Analyst on our Security Operations team to help maintain and strengthen security across rapidly growing on-premises and cloud infrastructure. Through the continuous monitoring and configuration of security systems, this role will help identify, triage, and respond to security risks against Mimecast and its customers. This role requires a team-first mentality to help foster a collaborative and transparent culture where security remains top-of-mind.

What You'll Do:

• Monitor, assess, and respond to output from several security tools
• Collaborate with security engineers to define and build detection rules
• Research emerging risks and threats to Mimecast environments, conducting analyses of threats when appropriate
• Provide security consulting on projects to internal Mimecast teams
• Communicate regularly with Mimecast employees across the world to verify activity and respond to security concerns
• Escalate security events in cooperation with the incident response team

What You'll Bring:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Drive to learn quickly with an emphasis on critical thinking
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing landscape
• Understanding of security tools and technologies such as SIEM, EDR, and IDS
• Understanding of IaaS platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Capability to report to our Minneapolis office on Wednesdays and Thursdays for coordinated in-office workdays
• Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline
• One of more years of experience in IT, security, or related field
• Experience using endpoint- and network-based security tooling
• Experience using automation tooling

This position entails strict adherence to all applicable privacy and security standards and regulations. Responsibilities include the protection of information, upholding confidentiality, and conducting all activities in alignment with Mimecast's policies. Completion of relevant role-based security and privacy training is a requisite for this role.

The base salary range for this position is $60,000-$90,000 plus benefits. This range represents the minimum and maximum new hire compensation for this role. The position may also be eligible for incentive plans and additional benefits, in accordance with company policy and local regulations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location with individual compensation also dependent on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills. Final offers will reflect these considerations and may vary accordingly.
