Maintains and preserves horticultural and botanical features using sound
horticultural practices; educates visitors; safeguards and enhances
departmental assets; and ensures highquality service and product
delivery-all of which elevates the guest experience at the zoo.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain ornamental plantings:
Flower bed and tree maintenance - Plant, clean, and maintain annual and
perennial flower beds throughout the zoo grounds. Plant and maintain
trees and shrubs throughout zoo grounds. Watering: Plants, mulches,
fertilizes, weeds, prunes, cleans, and maintains ornamental annuals,
perennials, turfgrass, and shrubs throughout the zoo grounds.
Landscaping: Creates new and renovates existing ornamental and native
planting areas through thorough site preparation, including invasive
species removal, soil amendments, grading, and installation of hardscape
