Job Summary
We are seeking a self motivated individual to oversee daily operations of scrap metal handling facility. Direct material sorting and handling. Manage equipment, monitor safety and environmental compliance and optimize logistics in and out. Requires strong leadership insuring safe productive and profitable operations. Job offers profit sharing and possible ownership opportunity for the right person.
Responsibilities
- Oversee receiving, daily purchasing and collection, sorting and shipping of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
- Supervise yard personnel and truck drivers. Communicate with owners on a daily basis.
- Monitor scrap intake and outflow as well as metal grading and sorting and weighting.
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
- Oversee routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. (excavators, skid steers, baler and roll off trucks)
- Build and maintain relationships with walk in and commercial customers.
- Handle customer service issues promptly and professionally to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Experience
Experience in the scrap metal business beneficial but we are willing to train the right person. The ability to operate and train staff on equipment also beneficial.
Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, inventory management, and budgeting processes.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
