Position Overview
A Warehouse Associate is responsible for handling various tasks related to the receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of goods within a warehouse environment. They play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and organized flow of products to meet customer demands and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist with receiving incoming shipments and verifying the contents against purchase orders or packing lists.
- Organize and store received goods in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Pick products from shelves or storage areas based on customer orders, sales orders, or requisitions.
- Pack orders securely and accurately to prevent damage during transportation.
- Prepare orders for delivery or shipment, ensuring all necessary documentation, labels, and packaging materials are in place.
- Operate warehouse equipment to load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Arrange products and pallets in the truck according to shipping requirements, maximizing space utilization and ensuring product integrity.
- Verify outgoing shipments against shipping manifests or delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Inspect products for damages, defects, or discrepancies during receiving, picking, and packing processes.
- Report any issues, discrepancies, or damages to the supervisor or management team immediately.
Qualifications
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 150pounds) and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Warehouse and material handling experience preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
