Where You Come In
Millwork360 is seeking a Buyer I to manage procurement, sourcing, and inventory for our Tampa, FL location. This role is responsible for ensuring materials, products, and supplies are purchased efficiently, delivered on time, and meet the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and Accounting to maintain smooth production and support company growth initiatives.
What You’ll Do
• Purchase direct and indirect materials to support manufacturing goals and maintain adequate inventory levels
• Communicate with internal teams to ensure inventory meets scheduled production needs
• Monitor inventory to assure on-time delivery, determine safety stock levels, and minimize carrying costs
• Conduct cycle counts and assist in managing inventory levels
• Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Accounting to ensure items meet specifications and are entered accurately into the database
• Manage domestic and international suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance
• Develop sourcing and procurement strategies, including cost-saving initiatives and new product introduction
• Collaborate with Materials Manager to identify and evaluate suppliers, developing alternatives as needed
• Manage projects for non-standard jobs with outside vendors, coordinating between Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and suppliers
• Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
• Two- or four-year degree in a related field preferred
• 3–5 years procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience purchasing steel and aluminum products preferred
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of purchasing, inventory management, supply chain strategies, and ERP/MRP systems
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with minimal supervision
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this role, you will frequently be exposed to a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, noise, and airborne particles. The position requires occasional lifting, handling of materials, and working in areas where safety procedures must be followed.
Pay & Schedule
• Full-time, Monday–Friday, with occasional overtime as needed
• Annual salary: $60,000–$70,000 based on experience
