Working collaboratively within the HR team, the primary focus of the HR Generalist will be recruiting hourly personnel, which will constitute approximately 75% of the responsibilities. The ideal candidate will also support a variety of human resources functions, ensuring that HR processes run efficiently and align with the company’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruiting (75%)
- Manage the full cycle recruiting process for hourly personnel, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and coordinating the hiring process
- Work closely with department managers to understand staffing needs and ensure timely placements
- Utilize job boards, social media, and other platforms to source top talent
- Conduct onboarding processes for new hires, including orientation and paperwork
- Coordinate and partner with recruitment agencies to help meet recruitment needs
- Develop and maintain relationships with local organizations, schools, and job fairs to build a robust candidate pipeline
HR Generalist (25%)
- Assist in the implementation and administration of HR policies and programs
- Provide day-to-day support on employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance
- Maintain and update employee records in HRIS
- Support management with data reporting and workforce planning
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives and company events
- Support general HR needs in the Bloomfield, CT location (onsite one day every other month)
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5 years of relevant experience in human resources, with a strong focus on recruiting
- Experience utilizing a HRIS system (preferably UKG) with running reports and maintaining data integrity
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion while maintaining confidentiality
- Strong knowledge of employment law, recruiting best practices, and HR processes
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
