ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Estimate Preparation
- Assist in creating detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and bid documents to understand project scope and requirements.
- Perform manual and digit take-offs for assigned trades using estimating software (Procore, Bluebeam, and Excel).
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes; level and compare bids for scope coverage and accuracy.
- Help prepare bid packages, proposals, and cost reports.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and scope reviews; coordinate with project management during takeoff.
- 6 months or more of estimating experience in commercial construction.
- Experience in project management or other construction roles is helpful but not required.
- Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and terminology.
- Familiarity with hardscape and concrete is very helpful.
- Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is needed.
- Should have exposure to estimating software and digital takeoff tools.
- Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and have strong attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills along with organizational skills are needed.
