Your Role
The Senior Finance Analyst for Discovery Solutions Biology in Life Science plays a key financial advisory role within the Biology Leadership Team, supporting operational and strategic decisions to achieve business goals in a complex, matrix environment. This role will report to the Head of Controlling – DS Biology.
You will manage critical processes, financial reporting, and decision-making for the Marketing and R&D organizations. Supporting the Biology P&L is also part of your scope. Your responsibilities include preparing and analyzing monthly financial results, forecasts, and operating plans. Also, you will be part of financial integration of newly acquired business and support additional M&A efforts. You will be required to leverage digital reporting and visualization solutions to enhance business insights for modeling complex business case (TM1, Tableau, PowerBI, Uptimize Fondry, Excel, SAP, and others).

Pay range for this position: $107,00.00 - $160,400.00
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Among Your Responsibilities Will Be To
- Support the 4 Biology Franchise Heads, Product Marketing Ops, Strategic & Technical Marketing and Head of R&D.
- Work closely with the R&D DS controller who centralized all DS R&D support
- Support Business Unit Portfolio Leaders and provide regular and ad hoc support to the Biology team on multiple financials areas: sales, gross margin, inventory, order intake, etc.
- Support the business by providing detailed insights on business performance that support achieving strategic and operational objectives
- Support business in capital requests/projects, Strategy development (SD process), investment analysis (ROI,NPV, IRR).
- Provide transparency into business drivers, risks, and opportunities
- Preparation of rolling Forecast for SG&A and R&D expenses
- Identify business trends and provide supportive analytics that drive and influence business performance and decisions that protect company’s profitability
- Review business forecast inputs for accuracy and reasonableness
- Reassess key performance indicators (KPIs) for R&D projects that align with Biology financial goals
- Help R&D leaders to steer resources allocations based on viability and strategic alignment on New Product Introduction (NPI) to support the company’s goals
- Prepare and review forecast for services in collaboration with our newly acquired company team to ensure accuracy and reasonableness
- Support future M&A efforts
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with minimum 5 years of relevant accounting and controlling experience.
- Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance with minimum 3 years of relevant accounting and controlling experience supporting R&D and Marketing organizations.
- A strong understanding and applying financial principles, practices, and standards, in a complex environment: matrix organizations, wide ERP landscape, worldwide scope of legal entities.
- Experience supporting a manufacturing company
