Our community hospital is seeking a dedicated Specimen Coordinator / Lab Assistant to play a crucial role in patient care. In this position, you’ll be essential in ensuring the accurate and timely handling of specimens, directly contributing to diagnoses and treatment within our collaborative lab environment.

Key Responsibilities: As a Specimen Coordinator / Lab Assistant, you’ll be vital in the following areas:
- Performing phlebotomy and collecting specimens from outpatients, inpatients, and ER patients.
- Managing the send-out section to referral laboratories.
- Batching send-outs accurately in Meditech.
- Performing urinalysis dipsticks and rapid tests such as Covid/Influenza/RSV tests .
- Assisting technicians on weekends with as-needed requests and resolving issues with specimens sent to referral laboratories.
- Performing other types of testing on a limited basis as needed.

Qualifications: High School diploma required. Certification by the national certifying agency for phlebotomy preferred. Clinical laboratory experience preferred.
General Information: Full-time, 36 hours per week. Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm.
