What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Millinocket Regional Hospital?
Millinocket Regional Hospital is looking for a qualified, full-time Accountant to support the Fiscal Services department.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred; a combination of education and experience will be considered. Experience/ knowledge of computer-based software, such as Excel and Word, required. Previous healthcare or not-for-profit experience in accounting preferred. Must have strong organizational skills, communication skills, competency with numbers, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Main Functions: To maintain a complete and systematic set of records of all financial transactions of the hospital and affiliated organizations to meet internal and external reporting requirements. Functions include monthly journal entries and financial statement preparation, special purpose fund accounting, account reconciliation, tax reporting, audit schedules, daily cash reporting, and data analysis and reporting.
General Information: This a full-time, 40 hour a week position offering a competitive salary, excellent healthcare benefits, 403b retirement, and paid time off. Working hours will be Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
