What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitor position at Millerbernd Manufacturing?
NOW HIRING: We are looking for a Janitor to join our team. The Janitor is responsible for maintaining production areas and keeping it presentable. Will perform heavy cleaning duties, such as washing floors, walls, glass and removing rubbish. Duties may also include notifying management of needed repairs, and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalk.
Title: Janitor
Location: Winsted, MN
Salary Range: $19.13 - 22.50 per hour (non-exempt)
(In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.)
Shift Schedule: 1st shift Monday – Friday 7am – 3pm
Shift Differential: 1st shift - N/A
- Gather and empty trash into specified dumpsters.
- Gather and empty hazardous waste into specified dumpsters. Prepare manifest.
- Dump scrap steel tilt hoppers in specific dumpsters.
- Contact Steel and Trash vendors when containers are full.
- Service, clean and supply restrooms, lunchroom and office.
- Drive vehicles required to perform task including industrial trucks.
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
- Spray insecticides and fumigants as needed
- Report maintenance concerns to Maintenance Manager
- Perform routine maintenance activities as requested.
Role Qualifications as a Janitor:
- Able to possess an industrial truck license
- Proven organizational and housekeeping skills
- Proven communication skills in English
- Able to identify potential safety hazards and takes steps to mitigate hazards.
- Work well with production employees
Physical Demands (Production Roles):
This position requires the individual to wear and work in company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires that the individual can lift a minimum of 50lbs. And, if applicable, can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment with the use of an overhead crane and/or forklift. Must be able to work in, on, or around equipment and machinery. The employee may need to perform work with the use of ladders.
