POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for training and overseeing the productivity and quality of the Router operators. Having them finish raw material and/or printed stock to customer specifications on a CNC router. Showing them how to perform cutting operations by selecting appropriate files, adjusting computer settings, selecting the proper tools, and finishing operations (ex. cutting, routing, scoring, etc.) and performing maintenance and upkeep on the equipment as needed.
POSITION COMPETENCIES: Responsibilities associated with each position are a combination of organizational-wide and department-specific standards. Performance is evaluated initially during each employee’s Introductory Period using the onboarding plan and manager observation. Thereafter, competencies are assessed on an ongoing basis and formally documented annually using the Annual Performance Evaluation Form.

Line-Lead Responsibilities: Responsible for the training of new employees (FTE or temp), timely completion of tasks, organization of projects, clarification of work to be completed, and quality assurance.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED; or three to six months experience and or training related to routing position responsibilities; or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Strong skills in work planning, and scheduling, and must have good judgment of color, design,
and printing quality.
Special Skills/Qualifications: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information and procedures. Ability to add,
subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to effectively
present information, train others, and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and employees.
MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The incumbent must manage stress appropriately; make decisions under pressure; handle multiple priorities, work alone; work in areas that are confined and/or crowded.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: The incumbent may be exposed to toxins, chemicals, extreme temperatures (30 degrees F – 115 degrees F), dust, fumes, moving mechanical parts, high-pitched noises, or gases. The incumbent will spend approximately 90% of their time indoors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lifting 40 lbs. maximum and frequently lifting and/or carrying articles.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 60 pounds. Essential Job Functions
- Reads and understands fully the work order and description of work to be completed.
- Checks product for accuracy, quality issues, and conformity with work order objectives.
- Determines what finishing functions are required according to the written work order.
- Selects the appropriate tools and adjusts settings to ensure safe and proper operation to obtain the desired finish.
- Scraps cut material and stacks and labels for the next process on the work order.
- Performs a QA check on the final product against all aspects of the work order to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Maintains production records as required.
- Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
- Inspect machine guards for safety compliance.
- Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
- As observed by the manager and others.
- Review of documentation.
