PURPOSE
Maintains direct daily contact with subcontractor’s representatives, foreman and other MVCC field staff. Responsible for the protection and promotion of MVCC interests.
POSITION DUTIES
- Monitor field variations and keep the Project Superintendent informed of these changes.
- Ensure that subcontractors understand job schedules and make every effort to meet them.
- Review manpower requirements relative to meeting current job progress schedules, follow-up for timely delivery of materials to meet established schedules.
- Coordinate work among the various trades and supervise and direct the work of the line and grade crews.
- Assist in the training and development of subordinates. Monitor the work to assure good quality control, and to make certain that work conforms to all plans and specifications.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with MVCC Safety Program and all applicable safety codes and regulations. Assist in the review of the monthly estimate work completed, payrolls, and material invoices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Professional position meeting education or equivalent experience qualifications. Capable of training and advising others
- Education or Education Equivalent: 4-year degree in Engineering, Construction, or Architecture from an accredited College or University. Other related degrees accepted if supported by construction-oriented coursework or relevant experience.
- Formal engineering or architectural training and three years of building construction experience required. Knowledge of contract documents, drawings and specifications, of line and grade (survey), construction and engineering principles.
- Quick to grasp new systems, processes, or market sectors.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills with diverse teams.
- Able to train and support colleagues efficiently.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate effectively with diverse audiences through various mediums, including written reports, business correspondence, and presentations.
- Proficiency in numerical calculations, including discounts, percentages, and basic algebraic concepts.
- Capacity to analyze problems, gather data, and make informed decisions based on factual evidence, while also interpreting technical instructions.
