Duties
- Greet customers warmly, listen to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document service needs
- Provide detailed auto estimating and service writing to ensure transparent communication of repairs and costs
- Oversee daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and quality control
- Assist technicians with automotive diagnostics, mechanical troubleshooting, and complex repairs such as transmissions, diesel engines, or suspension systems
- Drive upselling initiatives by recommending additional services like oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, alignments, shocks & struts, or air brake systems to maximize customer value
- Manage cash handling procedures accurately while maintaining high levels of integrity and accountability
- Foster a customer-first environment by delivering exceptional customer service throughout the entire repair process
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management and automotive diagnostics
- Extensive knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, and diesel engine repairs
- Hands-on mechanic experience or familiarity with automotive repair processes such as auto body repair or air brake systems
- Excellent communication skills for effective sales conversations and customer interactions
- Ability to lead a team of service technicians while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency
- Strong understanding of automotive systems including transmissions, shocks & struts, and auto estimating software
- Competency in cash handling and administrative tasks related to service writing and auto estimating
