What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Engineer position at Miller Resource Group?
Job Function
· Communicating with Project Managers to understand technical challenges that require designed solutions.
· Developing solutions to identified problems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and all relevant codes and standards.
· Understanding product portfolio, the operations and functionality of machines and systems to a high degree.
· Producing design drawings in AutoCAD that can be used for fabrication of small parts, steelworks etc.
· Coordinating closely with the Mechanical Integration Department at our HQ in Germany to ensure design decisions align with company requirements and specifications.
· Doing material take-offs from design layouts to produce bills of materials.
· Visiting project sites to support project managers with their day-to-day technical challenges.
· Visiting maintenance sites to support the Head of Service with continuous improvement of system under maintenance.
· Some project management may be required on smaller jobs.
· Producing Technical Reports.
Essential Requirements (mandatory)· Mechanical Engineering degree.
· Good level of AutoCAD skills and competence in producing design drawings.
· Design experience within a construction / engineering firm.
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in a design role within the industry.
· Meticulously organized and able to record and disseminate technical information accurately.
· Willing to travel to project sites at least 30% of the time.
· Capable to prioritize and plan work schedule in advance.
· Able to work from own initiative with minimum supervision.
· Able to work as a team member within a medium sized global organization.
· Current driving license

· Technical expertise related to automated materials handling systems is a major advantage.
