Network & Systems Security Administrator

Summary:

We are seeking a versatile IT professional to manage and secure our organization's network infrastructure, systems, and data. This hybrid role requires expertise in network administration, systems management, and cybersecurity best practices to ensure high availability, performance, and protection of critical resources.

The successful candidate will be responsible for administration and maintenance of the IT and automation environments at our Saginaw / Ft. Worth manufacturing facility.  The candidate will also work closely with our North American team to support larger IT initiatives, networks, servers, and security for the entire organization. This role combines expertise in WAN/LAN networking, systems administration, security systems and best practices.

Compensation: $71,574.00-$98,334.26 annually 

Primary Duties:  

On-Site IT Support (2 days week)

•    Manage local IT systems. Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, networks, printers, and scanners.

•    Troubleshoot network, hardware, and software issues.

•    Provide support and training for end-users, addressing day-to-day operational issues.

•    Collaborate with other IT and MMC team members on projects and initiatives.

Network Administration

•    Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless networks.

•    Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and optimize bandwidth.

•    Implement network segmentation and access controls. 

Systems Administration

•    Maintain inventory of assets and ensure proper documentation of procedures and configurations.

•    Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMWare) and storage systems.

•    Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.

•    Perform patch management and system updates to ensure compliance and stability.

•    Management of Microsoft cloud platforms.

Security Administration

•    Implement and manage security policies, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.

•    Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediate findings. 

•    Monitor logs and alerts for suspicious activity; respond to security incidents.

•    Participate in incident investigations and provide technical support during security incidents.

•    Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, CIS benchmarks).

Other Duties

•    Maintain documentation of network diagrams, system configurations, and security procedures.

•    Provide Tier 2-3 support for escalated issues.

•    Collaborate with IT leadership on infrastructure improvements and security strategies.

Requirements:

•    Strong communication abilities

•    Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization

•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team

•    Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).

•    Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls).

•    Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and database security.

•    Familiarity with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

•    Experience in designing and implementing IT solutions for business operations.

•    Strong troubleshooting skills and experience in providing IT support.

Qualifications:

•    Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

•    5 years of experience working in IT security, administration or a related role. 

•    Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security or ITIL are preferred.
