Project Manager

Reports to: Vice President of Project Management

Summary of Responsibilities: This position is primarily responsible for evaluating construction progress and overseeing the successful completion of projects to meet time and cost objectives with respect to contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and contract administration, and ensuring the profitability and client satisfaction of their projects for the company.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience working on one or more of the following projects a plus: office government, high-tech, hospitality, healthcare, retails, or multi-family
• LEED accreditation preferred
• Strengths should include strong coordination and shop drawing review skills, subcontractor management, budgeting and cost control, and scheduling experience
• Computer proficiency and software knowledge of Microsoft products, Prolog, Blue Beam, and Smartsheet
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional multi-tasking skills with the ability to proficiently and successfully manage a project from estimating to turnover to close-out

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Establish project objectives, policies, and performance standards within the boundaries and structure of corporate policies in place
• Maintain project financials, forecasting, and overall profitability while protecting the company’s interest and simultaneously maintaining an exceptional relationship with the client
• Maintenance of CPM Schedule for on-time completion of projects
• Advise senior management of overall project progress and critical issues impacting schedule and/or financials
• Scope, negotiate, and write subcontract agreements
• Manage owner progress invoicing, subcontractor I vendor payments, and risk mitigation requirements (CO1s, lien waivers, etc.)
• Possess a thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and their impact on project activities
• Manage day to day project requirements such as timely procurement and submittals, RFIs and PCO production and tracking
• Timely completion and close out of projects

Work at the Miller & Long job sites, yard, and batch plants may be required which includes outdoor conditions, year-round, where noise, vibrations, and hazards commonly associated with this type of work exist.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management (or related) or equivalent work experience
• Experience working on ground up, large scale hi-rise residential projects

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday. The employee may be required to work on Saturday/Sunday and at night.
