ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the successful execution of complex energy and electrical construction projects. As a critical member of the project team, you will serve as a key link between field operations, project leadership, customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
The Assistant Project Manager supports project planning, coordination, documentation, procurement, scheduling, and financial management activities while helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with customer expectations.
This role is ideal for a Project Engineer or construction professional looking to take the next step toward a Project Management career path.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate project coordination activities between field teams, project leadership, customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Lead project meetings and provide guidance to Project Engineers and Project Coordinators in partnership with Project Managers and field leadership.
- Support project planning and scheduling efforts by coordinating with scheduling teams to ensure accurate project updates and reporting.
- Review RFIs, submittals, design changes, and project documentation to identify schedule or cost impacts.
- Prepare and price change orders for Project Manager review and client submission.
- Track project progress and support billing, forecasting, and cost management activities.
- Manage project closeout documentation and turnover requirements.
- Coordinate commissioning activities with third-party agencies and track completion of outstanding items.
- Maintain strong working relationships with vendors and subcontractors to support successful project execution.
- Coordinate material procurement, release schedules, deliveries, and inventory tracking to meet construction milestones.
- Maintain project logs, records, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives and contribute to overall project team success.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education, experience, licenses, and certifications that would likely provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Licenses/Certifications
- No certifications are required.
Experience
- Three (3) or more years of experience as a Project Engineer in electrical construction, or related MEP construction experience within a general contracting environment.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related construction or project management experience preferred.
- Experience supporting project financials, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor management, and project documentation is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating the work of others is a plus.
Driving Requirements
- Valid state-issued driver's license.
- Acceptable driving record.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
