Miller Consulting Engineers (MCE) is a well-established structural engineering firm with more than 45 years of experience serving public and private clients throughout the Pacific Northwest. We are currently seeking a Structural Designer to join our growing team in SW Portland, Oregon.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a full-time, in-person position. As a Structural Designer at MCE, you will gain hands-on experience designing a wide range of structural systems and materials, including timber, steel, masonry, concrete, and composites. You’ll work closely with engineers and designers across experience levels—from recent graduates to seasoned professionals—on diverse and engaging projects. This position is ideal for someone eager to expand their technical skills, contribute meaningfully to project teams, and grow within a collaborative engineering environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (required)
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam passed and Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (preferred)
- Ability to develop creative, practical solutions to complex design challenges
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to balance team and individual responsibilities
- Commitment to contributing to a positive, supportive work environment
- Personal vehicle and minimum required Oregon insurance for site visits (preferred)
