Job Title: Memorabilia Supervisor
Job Summary: Oversee the reconciliation and categorization of materials at the end of production jobs, ensuring accurate inventory records. This role involves managing material movement, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Location: Durham, NC – CEVA
Shift: 12hr Night Shift (2-2-3-3)
What You Will Do
- Department Coordination: Partner with the department manager to achieve department initiatives and metrics.
- Employee Onboarding and Training: Ensure proper onboarding, mentoring, motivation, and ongoing training of personnel.
- Operational Excellence: Achieve department operating standards and engage in productivity efficiencies related to quality, cost, and on-time delivery. Oversee required preventative maintenance activities on equipment.
- Standards Adherence: Ensure staff are knowledgeable and adhere to department standards through audits and monitoring.
- Customer Requirements: Execute work activities to meet customer requirements.
- Status Reporting: Keep the department manager informed of daily activities, work status, and production schedules. Recommend alternative solutions to resolve issues as needed.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve daily operational issues on production lines, escalating unresolved issues.
- Daily Reporting: Maintain daily report logs outlining production, quality, major downtimes, and any unusual problems encountered during the shift. Communicate this information to the incoming supervisor and/or manager as necessary.
- Documentation: Ensure all required paperwork and forms are completed and filed for each production run.
- Continuous Improvement: Oversee changes that improve operational and business efficiencies, fostering a work environment of continuous improvement.
- Human Capital Management: Support human capital initiatives, including interviewing and selecting new talent, onboarding, mentoring, developing, coaching, recognizing and rewarding top performers, establishing career progression opportunities, promoting employee retention, addressing performance/behavioral issues, and holding staff accountable.
- Performance Reviews: Complete the performance review process, providing input and feedback on employee performance, creating development plans, and conducting review sessions.
- Meetings and Communication: Participate in meetings to inform assigned staff about project status and other pertinent information.
- Administrative Duties: Perform administrative tasks such as setting work schedules, tracking attendance, reviewing and approving timesheets and time-off requests, inputting and extracting data from electronic systems, administering disciplinary actions, and recommending wage increases, promotions, demotions, suspensions, and terminations.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in a related field desired.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience in sports card production or related area within the Printing industry.
- Certifications: ISO, OSHA, 5S, or continuous improvement training and knowledge desired.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient working knowledge of production equipment (e.g., Pot Devin, Rotary press, Thermotype, Malahide), tools, processes, procedures, and systems related to the role.
- Production Techniques: Proficient knowledge of sports card production techniques to produce products that meet customer requirements and department standards.
- Technical Proficiency: Effective use of intranet, email, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and management information systems (MIS).
- Leadership Skills: Proficient in human capital management, decision making, planning, analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement methodologies.
- Interpersonal Skills: Proficient in de-escalation of personnel issues and building positive relationships.
- Customer Service: Strong customer service, detail-oriented, results-driven, and administrative skills.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse internal customers, managers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
- Proactive Work Style: Communicate project status, issues, and completion plans proactively.
- Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Availability: Ability to work 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM, Monday - Friday.
- Physical Demands: Perform tasks such as carrying, lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. You may need to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally, and up to 25 pounds frequently.
- Work Environment: Primarily in a manufacturing plant with temperature extremes, moderate noise levels, and moving equipment. Work indoors and outdoors in varied weather conditions (heat, cold, wet, and dry).
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): You will be required to wear PPE, such as ear protection, eye protection, safety shoes, and a high-visibility vest, as necessary.
- Frequent Movement: Use of hands, arms, and wrists in controlled movements. Walking between work areas and using electronic devices and office equipment will be part of your day-to-day tasks.
- Communication: You understand the importance of active listening and clear communication channels to prevent misunderstandings, enhance teamwork, and create inclusive communication.
