The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the hotel’s front desk operations during the overnight shift while ensuring accurate financial reporting and guest satisfaction. This role combines customer service duties with accounting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform front desk duties including guest check-in and check-out during the night shift
- Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns in a professional and timely manner
- Balance and reconcile daily financial transactions, including room revenue, cash, and credit card payments
- Prepare and distribute daily reports for management review
- Audit and verify all accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Post room charges, taxes, and other fees to guest accounts
- Maintain security of the property and monitor for any unusual activity
- Handle emergency situations according to hotel procedures
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the front desk area
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams as needed
- Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality or accounting preferred
- Previous experience in hospitality, front desk, or accounting is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles
- Proficiency in hotel management systems (e.g., Opera, OnQ, or similar)
