Millennial Software is seeking a Mid to Senior IT Technician/ Data Center Engineer/ System Administrator to join our collaborative team supporting a Government customer. You’ll be a customer facing support as a Linux Systems Administrator. The ideal candidate is passionate about problem solving and assisting users with applications, accounts, hardware, and other IT related issues.
Essential Functions
- Looking for strong expertise in RedHat Enterprise Linux environments, with demonstrated experience managing both physical and virtual infrastructure in data center settings
- Will be responsible for hardware/asset management, server and workstation deployment, and creating efficient automation solutions for repetitive tasks.
- Strong documentation skills are essential, including the ability to produce clear, usable documentation for both internal teams and customers
- This position requires technical proficiency combined with excellent communication skills to effectively support our client's infrastructure needs
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with CI Poly
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline
- 5 years of relevant experience (or 4 years with a Graduate Degree)
- Build, maintain, update, and retire virtual, physical, and cloud Redhat and Windows hosts
- Maintain and support enterprise storage systems
- Provision, adjust, or tear down project resources such as Kubernetes namespaces, Virtual or Physical hosts, workstations, etc..
- Perform data center tasks such as equipment inventory, racking and cabline servers, performing hardware troubleshooting and repairs, etc..
- Maintain hardware, including workstations, servers, Enterprise Storage arrays from multiple vendors, network equipment, etc. Including troubleshooting, identifying faults, coordinating order and installation or replacement parts.
- Coordinate major activities such as data center disruptions caused by power work, including communicating with all stakeholders
- Support, including installation, updating, troubleshooting, and removing, specialty applications, services, and systems in support of project and user needs
- Install/implement, maintain, and update security controls necessary to maintain required security posture in support of asset ATOs
