Mortgage Loan Processor
Location: Security First Mortgage Funding, LLC [SFMF]: 21 N. Quinsigamond Ave. Shrewsbury, Ma 01545
Work Schedule: Mon- Fri; 8:30am-5pm, Full Time; In-person
Position Summary: This position will predominantly report to the Senior Vice President of Security First Mortgage, LLC or assignee. The Mortgage Loan Processor plays a critical role in supporting the loan origination team by helping structure loans, preparing files for processing and underwriting, and ensuring smooth, efficient experience for borrowers. This position works closely with Loan Officers, borrowers, processors, and other internal/external partners to move files from application to closing with accuracy and speed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Organizes documents in the files into a standard format while reviewing for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate directly with Loan Officers to structure loan scenarios based on borrower goals, program guidelines, and investor requirements.
- Calculate borrower income across various employment types (W‑2, self‑employed, variable income, rental income, etc.).
- Run automated underwriting systems (DU, LP) and interpret findings.
- Perform pre‑underwriting reviews to ensure files are complete and ready for underwriting.
- Orders the appraisal, flood zone determinations, credit updates, insurance binders, tax transcripts, SSN verifications, etc. as applicable.
- Serve as a secondary point of contact (Loan Officer is first point of contact) for borrowers to gather documentation, answer basic questions, and provide status updates.
- Prepare and issue initial loan disclosures in accordance with TRID and company policies.
- Communicate clearly and professionally via phone and email.
- Assist Loan Officers with daily pipeline management and task prioritization.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
- Experience in mortgage lending, processing, underwriting, or loan origination.
- Strong understanding of mortgage products, AUS systems, and basic underwriting principles.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Team‑oriented, reliable, and committed to delivering a high‑quality borrower experience.
