The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) partners with the Director of Nursing to oversee the day-to-day clinical and administrative operations of the Nursing Department. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and operational excellence while promoting a positive and collaborative culture throughout the facility.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing services.
Ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and person-centered care.
Support quality assurance and infection prevention initiatives.
Monitor compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations and policies.
Mentor, educate, and support nursing staff through coaching and ongoing development.
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and retention of nursing team members.
Coordinate staffing and scheduling to maintain appropriate clinical coverage.
Ensure timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation.
Foster effective communication among nursing staff, physicians, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Collaborate with leadership to continuously improve clinical outcomes and resident satisfaction.
Maintain flexibility to meet the evolving needs of the facility and its residents.
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience.
One (1) to two (2) years of leadership or supervisory experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred.
Current CPR certification.
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Thorough understanding of long-term care regulations and standards of practice.
