What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Engineering Coordinator position at Military Technical Recruiting (MTR.vet)?
This position will mainly focus on three items (1) PSM/RMP program (2) Factory wide environmental activities and (3) Engineering drafting, contractor and project management.
They are looking for someone who has managed a facility's safety programs, focusing on preventing large-scale chemical incidents by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, handling procedures, documentation, risk assessments, and employee training for hazardous chemicals, often involving systems like ammonia refrigeration. They are key in Management of Change (MOC), supporting projects, and maintaining safety records for auditability.
On a day to day basis, you will perform troubleshooting and repairs on refrigeration systems, while making sure process safety information is accurate and up to date. You will also ensure standard operating procedures are written and up to date for all applicable tasks and ensure operators have read and understand these procedures.
Requirements
Preferred but not a requirement- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Safety discipline.
Experience managing a facility's safety programs, focusing on preventing large-scale chemical incidents
5 years experience in ammonia PSM and utilities compliance.
Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119, EPA RMP, and IIAR standards.
Proven ability to design durable management systems.
Preferred: RETA/IIAR certifications, CSP, environmental compliance experience.
