What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Maintenance Technician position at Military Technical Recruiting (MTR.vet)?
Under minimal supervision, apply electrical and mechanical skills to perform corrective and preventative maintenance for production, fabrication, service equipment, and facilities. They need electrical and/or electronic technicians who have troubleshot and repaired relay logic, drives, motors and other electrical systems. An understanding of PLC's, how they work and basic understanding of input and outputs would be a benefit for this role but not a must have.
Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment, facilities equipment, laboratory equipment and testing equipment in accordance with preventative maintenance programs.
Capable of interpreting schematics, blueprints, and PI&D regulation (optional)
Troubleshoot; evaluate and repair; devise and improvise; make corrections or adjustments; use tools and testing devices to maintain equipment under the direction of the Supervisor/Maintenance Manager.
Identify ways to improve our maintenance program through continuous improvement techniques, technology and knowledge sharing
Maintain awareness of new systems and techniques to upgrade existing equipment and processes.
Knowledge of safe working practices such as LOTO, confined space, PPE, NFPA arc flash.
Follow safety procedures and always work carefully to prevent injuries and avoid damage to company property.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Complete and maintain all required reports.
Effectively communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers to achieve company goals and objectives.
Regularly keep equipment and work area clean and organized.
Routinely check tools to keep them in proper working order.
Help maintain inventory of repair parts and supplies
Requirements
3 years industry or military experience performing Industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance in an industrial environment.
Ability to independently and safely use all required tools and equipment
Must be available to work overtime and/or odd hours upon request without prior notice
Electrical Experience:
- Experience with 480VAC,120v AC, 24vDC and 4-20mA systems
- Hands on exposure to automation and PLCs (not a must have)
- Ability to read electrical schematics. Hard wire/relay logic.
