Immediate Supervisor: MBP Director
DHS Requirements (as of 2016, DHS 970):
DHS Requirements (as of 2016):
A childcare aide shall meet one of the following qualifications:
High School vocational childcare training course; or
Orientation training course in the center.
NAEYC Requirements (as of 2016):
Have at least a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or equivalent. Equivalent is defined as: A minimum of 12 college credits (semester hours) in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or early childhood special education that encompass the following: child development and learning of children birth through kindergarten; family and community relationships; observing, documenting, and assessing young children; teaching and learning; and professional practices and development. [OR]
Be working on either a CDA credential awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition or the equivalent [OR]
Meet one of the candidacy requirements for teachers.
MBP Requirements:
Individual must meet DHS and NAEYC Requirements, MBP General Job Requirements and
Is an active member of Mililani Baptist Church, or a like-minded body of believers.
Overview of Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Abide by all MBP policies and procedures set forth in the Employee Manual.
Assist assigned lead teacher in all facets of learning.
Complete all delegated responsibilities and tasks from the lead teacher.
Assist the classroom Teacher's Assistant with any additional tasks, as directed by the Lead Teacher.
Contribute to a spirit of team unity, mutual respect, and healthy conflict management with all other staff.
Reinforce teaching lessons and concepts with the children.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 18 per week
