Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Environmental Compliance & Regulatory Lead based in Houston, TX. The role involves ensuring environmental compliance with applicable regulations and standards, managing waste management processes, and providing expert guidance on environmental policies. The candidate will also support regulatory reporting, oversee wastewater treatment processes, and collaborate with regulatory agencies to facilitate environmental stewardship and risk mitigation.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Environmental Compliance and Environmental Policy
- Strong knowledge of Waste Management and Environmental Consulting
- Experience in Wastewater Treatment processes
- Excellent understanding of local, state, and federal environmental regulations
- A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively within teams and communicate with regulatory agencies
- Professional certifications such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) are a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field required
- 4–7 years of relevant environmental or regulatory experience
- Oil and gas industry experience preferred (upstream, midstream, or waste management)
- Experience working in Texas and/or New Mexico preferred
- Working knowledge of Railroad Commission regulations and processes required
- Experience with regulatory filings including P-5, P-18, and reporting requirements required
- Familiarity with Class I and/or Class II injection wells required
- Experience interacting with regulatory agencies required
- Strong understanding of oil and gas operations and how regulations apply in the field
