Role Description
The Registered Dental Hygienist role is a full-time, on-site position located in Edison, NJ. The hygienist will perform comprehensive dental prophylaxis, periodontal assessments, and non-surgical periodontal therapy, including scaling and root planing. Daily responsibilities include providing patient education on oral hygiene, disease prevention, and home care techniques, as well as documenting findings and treatment in patient records. The role involves working closely with dentists and other team members to coordinate care, assist in diagnosis, and support overall treatment planning. The hygienist will also adhere to infection control protocols, maintain instruments and equipment, and contribute to a positive, efficient clinical workflow.
Requirements
- Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of New Jersey.
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
- Current CPR/BLS certification and familiarity with OSHA and infection control standards.
- Strong clinical skills in dentistry, dental care, and hygiene, including patient assessment and preventive services.
- Proficiency in dental prophylaxis, including thorough cleaning, polishing, and fluoride treatments.
- Knowledge and experience in identifying and managing periodontal disease, including periodontal charting and non-surgical therapy.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills, with the ability to explain treatments and home care clearly.
- Experience using Archy Dental Software is preferred.
