What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Foreman position at Miles McClellan Construction?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directs activities of assigned Concrete Carpenters, Concrete Laborers and Apprentices
- Interprets blueprints and job orders as needed for area of supervision
- Establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of equipment and assigned team members
- Directs subgrade work, setting of forms and placing of concrete
- Understands schedules and manpower requirements for completion of projects
- Analyzes and resolves any issues on the project
- Ensures adherence of the Company’s safety policy and practices
- Managing crews of concrete workers
- Effectively allocate the amount of manpower needed per project.
- Coordinating with Superintendents
- Problem solve project anomalies
- Contribute to maintain quality standards
- Assist with the placement of concrete for projects
- Meet with Owners, General Contractor and others in a professional manner and can communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company
- Manage Materials and equipment allocation
- Determine materials, equipment and, procedures required to achieve desired results
- Determine and abide by safety procedures based on job site conditions
- Knowledge and understanding of commercial concrete construction, techniques, and tools
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 4 years’ experience in concrete
- Previous experience in the commercial construction industry preferred.
- Understand the project plans and specifications.
- Determine materials, equipment and procedures required to achieve desired results
- Determine and abide by safety procedures based on job site conditions
- Communicate equipment and manpower needs to meet schedules and deadlines.
- Supervise and train workers
- Allocate general and daily responsibilities
- Understand blueprints and drawings
