If you enjoy working closely with students, coordinating complex processes, and contributing to high-quality healthcare education programs, we encourage you to apply.About the RoleThe Nursing and Allied Health Programs Advisor serves as a key member of the Nursing Department and works closely with the Director of Nursing and faculty. This position provides academic advising, student support, and administrative coordination for Pre-Nursing, CNA, Phlebotomy, Pre-Medical Lab Tech, and Pre-Rad Tech students. This role is essential in ensuring students are well-prepared, supported, and compliant with program, accreditation, and clinical requirements.Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary academic advisor for Nursing and Allied Health pre-program students
- Meet with students during SOAR and at least once per semester to review academic progress and long-range plans
- Guide prospective students through application processes and prepare program information materials
- Maintain and manage student records (electronic and hard copy) in compliance with FERPA and HIPAA
- Verify immunizations, CPR certification, background checks, and health requirements for CNA and Nursing students
- Coordinate Kaplan entrance and transition exams and serve as exam proctor
- Support ordering and organization of supplies and scheduling for the Nursing Arts Lab and Simulation Labs
- Coordinate department events such as Orientation, Advisory Committee meetings, and Pinning Ceremony
- Compile program evaluation data and assist with programmatic and institutional accreditation and State Board requirements
- Provide referrals to campus resources when students need additional supportQualificationsRequired:
- Associate’s degree in a related field
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Experience working with office technology and database/spreadsheet systemsPreferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Experience working with college students in advising, mentoring, or student support roles
