About The Role
- As our Digital Content Editor, you’ll be handling video and audio content across the Mile Higher Media network. This role is a strong fit for someone who knows how to take raw footage and shape it into polished, engaging content that feels clean, intentional, and platform-ready.
- A big part of this job is editing podcast and digital video content for YouTube and social platforms, while maintaining high quality and realistic turnaround times. You should be comfortable juggling multiple projects, taking feedback well, and knowing how to make small choices in pacing, music, visuals, and polish that make a big difference in the final product.
What You’ll Do
- Edit raw video and audio footage for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and other digital platforms
- Must know how to take long-form content and turn it into engaging short-form clips for social media, including TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Short-form video is a defined format on major platforms, including YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels
- Organize footage, media assets, project files, and deliverables in a way that keeps projects running smoothly
- Work on multiple projects at once while managing deadlines and shifting priorities
- Add music, sound design, b-roll, transitions, graphics, and other visual elements where needed
- Handle color correction, audio cleanup, and general post-production finishing work
- Work closely with producers and hosts to shape edits that match the tone and vision of each show
- Apply feedback thoughtfully and make revisions in a timely way
- Look for ways to improve pacing, polish, and overall content quality
- Help maintain consistent workflows and organized file management across projects
What You’ll Bring to the Table
- At least 3 years of experience editing digital content in a professional setting
- A Bachelor’s degree in a media-related field or equivalent professional experience
- Advanced knowledge of DaVinci Resolve and familiarity with the broader Blackmagic Design workflow
- Hands-on experience shooting video with DSLRs, smartphones, GoPros, Blackmagic cameras, or similar equipment
- A solid understanding of composition, lighting, framing, and general production fundamentals
- Strong knowledge of frame rates, aspect ratios, codecs, image types, and delivery specs across platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook
- Confidence working with both video and audio in post-production
- The ability to stay flexible when schedules shift or deadlines move
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep media and projects clean and manageable
- A sharp eye for detail and a strong sense of pacing, story flow, and visual quality
- Someone based in Colorado who can commute to the office as needed
- Willingness to sign an NDA
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Flexible mindset - comfortable operating outside of a traditional 9-5 schedule as needed
- A genuine interest in true crime, mystery, paranormal content, and digital storytelling
Bonus Skills
- Animation or motion graphics experience
- Photography or videography experience beyond editing
- Experience working on podcasts or other long-form talk-based content
- Familiarity with YouTube content strategy and audience retention best practices
- 3D experience in Blender
- Experience with other Blackmagic Design tools or post-production workflows
