General Information:
Job title: Maintenance Mechanic
Schedule: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Weekend Requirement: Yes, required to participate in rotation.
Holiday Requirement: Yes, required to participate in rotation.
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic position sets up, adjusts, and maintains assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality on equipment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and take corrective action. Make necessary corrections and adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Review and perform scheduled maintenance.
- Test equipment to check operation. Try out equipment after repairs or extended downtime.
- Examine, test, and measure assigned equipment for quality specifications, using gauges and instruments, and recording data on appropriate forms. Check for visual defects.
- Make preventive maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment, report findings to supervisor, and take appropriate action.
- Examine defects and analyze causes and, where possible, takes corrective action. Analyze and record cause on daily report.
- Inform supervisors in details of daily schedule, standard operating procedures, and requirements.
- Notify maintenance supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, and of quality problems or supplies needed.
- Instruct and direct any maintenance trainees assigned.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 3 years of related experience preferred.
- Must hold and maintain a valid, current driver's license.
- Must be MBMC insurable.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Intermediate proficiency with computers required.
- Knowledge of general mechanics required.
- Must be adept at using a variety of tools to work with mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and follow instructions.
- Ability to operate related power equipment.
- Ability to have continuous oral and written communication with co-workers and supervisors is essential.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
