General Information:
Job title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Schedule: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm or four 10-hour days
Weekend rotation: None
Holiday rotation: Rotation required
Position Summary:
The Physical Therapist Assistant position, under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides education and treatments to patients through exercise, manual techniques, gait and balance training, as well as other therapeutic interventions, to assist the Physical Therapist in carrying out their plan of care.
Position Responsibilities:
- Treat patients with movement dysfunction or pain to improve their ability to perform daily tasks, decrease risk of adverse events (falls, DVT etc.), improve involvement in work tasks, assist in recovery from surgery and improve patient outcomes, within the scope of ability.
- Document all that occurs as it relates to patient care, including evaluations, progress notes, discharges, daily notes, insurance approvals/denials, and phone conversations.
- Collaborate with other providers.
- Cleaning: helping to clean the treatment rooms, assist with laundry, cleaning the bathroom etc.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Position Requirements:
- Two-year degree in physical therapy assistant required.
- Wisconsin physical therapy assistant license and continuing education to maintain licensure required.
- BLS certification required.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
- Basic knowledge of physical therapy and human anatomy.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Strong quantitative and analytical competency.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
