Job Title: Operations Analyst

Location: New York, NY

Team: Project Management


Role Overview: MikeWorldWide is seeking an Operations Analyst to support financial reporting, operational analysis, and project-level visibility across our various practice and department areas. This role will play an integral part in improving financial discipline, enhancing operational efficiency, and enabling better decision-making across the organization. This role will support specific practice areas, ensuring balanced coverage across both large and emerging business units.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze key performance metrics including utilization, capacity, billability, and project margins. Identify risks, trends, and opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and resource allocation.
  • Operational Support & Reporting: Partner with account, project management, resource management and finance teams to enhance staffing visibility, project tracking, and streamline reporting. Help ensure data accuracy across systems and drive consistency in operational processes.
  • Financial Planning & Reporting: Support budgeting and forecasting processes by maintaining accurate financial data, assisting with revenue tracking, and reconciling invoices. Contribute to regular reporting on client profitability and overall practice performance.
  • Data & Insights: Build and maintain dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights into project health, financial performance, and staff/resource utilization. Translate data into clear, digestible insights for cross-functional stakeholders.


Tools & Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.
  • Experienced regarding data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) to create dashboards and reporting.
  • Familiarity with data extraction and querying tools (e.g., SQL or similar) for analyzing large datasets.
  • Knowledgeable of ERP and financial systems for tracking and reporting financial data.
  • Experience working with project management and CRM tools to manage workflows and data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint) for communication and reporting.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in finance, operations, analytics, or a related field (agency or professional services experience preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify insights.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative with effective communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.

  • Improve visibility into margins and overall profitability.
  • Enable more accurate forecasting and financial planning.
  • Increase utilization and billability through better resource insights and reporting.
