Overview
As a Tow Truck Operator, you will be the frontline hero responsible for safely towing and recovering vehicles using specialized equipment. You’ll operate various tow trucks, including flatbeds and other heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring efficient and secure vehicle transport. Your role is vital in supporting our customers and maintaining smooth operations across the service area.
Duties
- Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other heavy-duty models, to recover and transport vehicles.
- Load, unload, and secure vehicles with precision, ensuring safety for all involved.
- Perform basic automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments to determine the best recovery approach.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and team members to coordinate towing operations.
- Manage conflict situations professionally when dealing with distressed or upset customers.
- Conduct routine inspections of tow truck equipment such as forklifts and flatbeds to ensure optimal functioning.
- Maintain accurate logs of all towing activities, including details of vehicle condition, location, and time.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbeds or heavy-duty models.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic automotive repairs or diagnostics.
- Familiarity with manual transmissions and automotive repair tools.
- Strong customer service skills combined with conflict management abilities.
- Ability to load & unload vehicles efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
