Position Description: Marketing & Social Media Assistant

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Marketing Assistant’s essential function is to assist in the preparation of marketing and communication efforts of the company, assist in coordinating both on-site and off-site promotional and sales events in efforts to stimulate store traffic and increase sales. Assist in the planning and building of email newsletters, social content, and Video Content creation. This person must have an outgoing personality, good understanding of social media platforms and be comfortable in presenting in front of the camera.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in Coordinating all aspects of on site and off-site events and special promotions.
• Plan weekly email newsletter Campaigns to promote company activities, including but not limited to, Events, Promotions, and product releases
• Plan daily Instagram posts using original material and vendor provided content to grow Instagram reach and engagement
• Build video content to host on Mike’s Camera TV YouTube channel to promote events, products and photography tips and techniques
• Coordinate Facebook Posts for both Main page and location pages to drive engagement and sales.
• Track upcoming events and registrations for the purpose of driving additional attendees.
• Develop, maintain, and cultivate company social media presence in all channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Blog, YouTube, and Pinterest to enhance engagement, interactions, and drive sales.
• Drive engagement and sales through promotional emails, both standalone and promotional campaigns.
• Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with vendor representatives in coordinating co-sponsored promotions.
• Evaluate marketing projects and make suggestions for modifications to future events.
• Work closely with Sales and Operations Manager to plan weekly and monthly strategies.
• Keep abreast of current technology and products by working with industry sources.
• Ensure that deadlines are met for all projects.
• Any other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor’s degree, or four years of imaging industry experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Without a degree, 4 years related work experience.
• Creative mindset and eye for detail.
• Some marketing and event internship experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Ability to interact well with management, peers, subordinates, and customers.
• Database and spreadsheet computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
• Comfortable with basic editing for both images and video content.
• Knowledge of Social Media trends, technical knowledge of limitations and requirements of various social platforms and prior experience or demonstrated ability to both promote the brand but also engage and respond to customers in real time.

Job Type: Full-time
