ABOUT YOU:
Mike’s Bikes is seeking both aspiring and experienced hands-on individuals to join their dynamic Tech Department as a Bike Technician.
Whether you're new to bike repair and eager to learn or a seasoned mechanic looking for a supportive and growth-oriented environment, we have a place for you. This position will be located at the Mike's Bikes Store at the Stanford Research Park. The address is 3215 Porter Dr, Suite 102 Palo Alto, CA 94304.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAY JOB LOOK LIKE:
-Start with our 2-day, hands-on Tech Training Course to learn the fundamentals of bicycle repair
-Build and repair a wide range of bikes—from brand-new race machines to well-worn daily commuters
-Receive ongoing mentorship from some of the best mechanics in the industry
-Communicate with customers in person and via our digital system to provide repair updates
-Maintain your workspace, tools, and tech station so everything’s clean, safe, and efficient
-Learn and follow safety procedures for tools, equipment, and cleaning materials
-Complete your assigned training modules to grow your skills and stay up to date in an ever-changing industry

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
-Ideally 1 years of experience with bicycle maintenance
-A quick learner with technical aptitude and great communication skills
-Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
-Comfortable working with your hands and using tools regularly
-Physically up for it! Lifting bikes, climbing ladders, and moving around the store is part of the gig
-Comfortable chatting with customers in person and on the phone
-Capable of standing for long periods and performing repetitive motions
-Motivated to succeed in a goal-oriented, fast-paced environment
-Flexible and available to work weekends as needed
HOURLY PAY RANGE: This compensation package will be dependent on experience, qualifications, and industry experience. Entry level candidates can expect to make at least $18/hr. plus a bi-weekly bonus potential of $250. With some experience, you could potentially earn between $22/hr.-$25/hr. with the $250 bi-weekly bonus potential.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.
