Summary
The Detailer is responsible for cleaning, refurbishing, and maintaining the appearance of new and used vehicles, ensuring they meet dealership standards for delivery and display.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (per insurance company requirements)
- At least six months prior automotive detailing experience
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong time management skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Essential Duties
- Washes, waxes, vacuums, and buffs vehicles (interior and exterior) to dealership standards
- Cleans engine compartments, trunks, and undercarriages
- Applies protective finishes to the exteriors of vehicles
- Uses cleaning, protective, and restorative agents to maintain and enhance vehicle appearance
- Inspects vehicles for cleanliness and damages before and after cleaning
- Reports any vehicle damage or malfunction to supervisor
- Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the detailing bay, tools, and supplies
- Ensures that vehicles are properly staged for delivery or display
- Assists in moving vehicles on the lot as needed
- Complies with all safety policies and procedures
- Keeps up-to-date with new detailing techniques and tools
- Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management
