Oversee the daily operations of the Service Department, ensuring efficient scheduling, high-quality workmanship, strong customer relationships, and profitable growth. Key Responsibilities:
Department Leadership
- Supervise, train, and mentor service electricians and apprentices.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily service work and emergency calls.
- Promote a positive, safe, and professional work environment.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and expectations.
- Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for service customers.
- Maintain and grow customer relationships through prompt, professional communication.
- Handle customer concerns and ensure issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
_ Operations & Technical Oversight_
- Review and approve work orders, estimates, and service reports.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC, NFPA, and local codes.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to field technicians.
- Manage materials, tools, and equipment to ensure availability and cost control.
- Financial Management
- Track and report service department performance, including profitability, productivity, and labor utilization.
- Manage budgets, approve timecards, and oversee purchasing for service jobs.
- Identify opportunities for department growth and efficiency improvements.
Qualifications
- Journeyman or Master Electrician or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical service work
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
