What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician position at Midwest Welding and Manufacturing?
Job summary: The Field Service Technician’s primary responsibility will be to travel to jobsites to perform custom installation and repairs on various types of agricultural, grain handling and other equipment from a wide variety of industries.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
· Reads and interprets blueprints including tolerances and quantities
- Assemble and install equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and legs, using hand tools and power tools
· Keeps work truck and/or trailer clean, maintained, organized, and stocked with parts
· Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered
· Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Available to work overtime during busy seasons
· Proficient in reading a tape measure, required
· Some welding experience, preferred
· Experience with, or willingness to learn, the following machinery/tools. Not limited to:
o Shear
o Brake press
o Iron workers
o Drill press
o Roller
o Band saw
o Chop saw
o Bench grinder
o Belt sander
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Willingness to comply with company safety guidelines
· Can shift between being a team-player and working independently
· Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
· Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding and fabricating assignments
· Show initiative, possess personal accountability and be reliable
· Ability to provide own tools (tool list provided upon employment)
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma
· Valid driver’s license
· Valid CDL, preferred (employer assistance available for obtaining license)
Physical Requirements:
· Lift at least 50 pounds
· Climb and maintain balance while working on a ladder
· Ability to work in all weather conditions
· Ability to work in open heights
· Perform overhead work
· Perform work while frequently bending, squatting, kneeling
Pre employment:
You will be required to pass a drug screen and physical to be eligible for employment
