Surveyor (Entry-Level to Crew Chief)

Location: Fargo, ND
Job Type: Direct Hire
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay: $25 – $34 per hour (DOE)

We are currently hiring Surveyors at multiple experience levels, ranging from Junior Surveyor to Survey Crew Chief. This is an excellent opportunity to join a large construction project team with competitive pay and the potential for relocation assistance for the right candidate.

These positions are expected to run through June/July, with immediate openings available.

Responsibilities

• Conduct survey and layout activities as directed.
• Perform QA/QC review tasks related to 3D modeling and grading.
• Maintain, track, inventory, and coordinate use of GPS, survey, and machine control equipment.
• Conduct topographic and cross-section surveys for planning and quantity measurements.
• Document surveying activities using detailed field notes.
• Maintain and care for surveying equipment.
• Coordinate surveying activities with the Survey Manager to meet construction requirements.
• Communicate and reinforce company vision, values, and goals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Basic to advanced knowledge of field instrumentation, GPS systems, and robotic total stations.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team environment.
• Strong math skills, including algebra and trigonometry.
• Technical school diploma or certificate in a related program is a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Work Environment

• Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
• Work around moving mechanical equipment.
• Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and loud noise levels.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including:
• Hard hat
• Safety glasses
• Gloves
• Safety-toed boots
• Safety vest

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to traverse uneven and steep terrain.
• Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and enter/exit heavy equipment.
• Must be able to respond quickly to sounds and communicate clearly with team members.
