What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Commercial & Agricultural Tire Service Technician position at Midwest Staffing Group?
If you like working with your hands, solving problems, being on the move, and seeing the results of your work firsthand, this could be a great fit.
This is not a job where you'll be stuck doing the same thing all day. You'll work independently in the field, respond to customer service needs, troubleshoot equipment, and help keep commercial trucks and agricultural operations moving. Every day can bring something different — from servicing a semi to helping get farm equipment back up and running.
What You'll Do
- Respond to scheduled service calls and emergency roadside or field service needs
- Mount, dismount, repair, replace, and service commercial and agricultural tires
- Work on trucks, trailers, farm equipment, and other heavy-duty machinery
- Inspect and diagnose tire issues and determine the best repair or replacement solution
- Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on customer equipment
- Install, maintain, diagnose, and troubleshoot Central Tire Inflation Systems (CTIS)
- Operate a fully equipped service truck and specialized tire and mechanical equipment
- Load and organize the tires, tools, parts, and equipment needed for each job
- Complete daily inspections to make sure your truck, tools, and equipment are ready to go
- Communicate directly with customers about repairs, service needs, and job progress
- Complete service tickets and required documentation accurately
- Help support shop operations when you're not out on service calls
- Keep your service truck clean, organized, stocked, and ready for the next call
- Follow company, DOT, and safety procedures, including proper PPE requirements
- Report equipment concerns, incidents, near misses, or other safety issues promptly
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of their work.
- Experience with commercial tires, agricultural tires, heavy-duty equipment, or mechanical repair is preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- CTIS experience is a plus, but we're open to someone who is willing to learn
- Comfortable working with large tires, tools, parts, and heavy equipment
- Able to handle physically active work including lifting, bending, kneeling, crouching, and working on the ground
- Comfortable working outdoors throughout the year in heat, cold, wind, and snow
- Able to work independently and make good decisions in the field
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and focused on providing great customer service
- Strong communication and time-management skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving record
- Willing to participate in a rotating on-call schedule for emergency service needs
Why You'll Like This Role
This is a great opportunity for someone who doesn't want to spend every day behind a desk or standing in the same spot. You'll have the freedom to work independently, travel to different customer locations, use your mechanical skills, and solve real problems that keep businesses and equipment running.
If you take pride in a job well done, enjoy figuring out how things work, and like being the person customers can count on when they need help, we'd love to hear from you.
