Retail Assistant Store Manager - Stan's Shoes Glendale, WI

Stan's Shoes in Greenfield, WI is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to join our team. In this role, you'll partner with the Store Manager to lead daily operations, drive sales performance, and deliver our signature sit-and-fit experience-ensuring every customer receives personalized service and leaves feeling confident and comfortable.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll coach team members, lead by example on the sales floor, and help create a positive, high-performing store environment.

As the Assistant Store Manager, you'll play a key role in leading the day-to-day operations of the store while setting the standard for sales and customer experience. You'll spend much of your time on the sales floor, delivering exceptional sit-and-fit experiences and leading by example to achieve and exceed both individual and store goals. At the same time, you'll coach and support team members in real time-helping them build confidence in their product knowledge, strengthen their sales approach, and create meaningful connections with customers.

You'll also partner closely with the Store Manager to ensure the store runs smoothly and efficiently. This includes supporting opening and closing procedures, overseeing POS and cash handling, maintaining strong inventory practices, and ensuring the store remains clean, organized, and visually appealing. You'll help coordinate scheduling to maintain proper floor coverage, step in as Manager-on-Duty when needed, and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment that reflects the values of Stan's Shoes.

• 2 years of retail or customer-facing experience


• Previous leadership experience (keyholder, supervisor, or similar)


• Strong communication skills with the ability to coach and motivate others


• Sales-driven mindset with a track record (or strong desire) to meet and exceed goals


• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment


• Experience with POS systems and basic retail technology


• Reliable, professional, and self-motivated


• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends

Preferred:

• Footwear, apparel, or specialty retail experience


• Experience training or developing team members


• Understanding of sales metrics and performance tracking

• Weekly base pay of $525 commission (starting at 5%)


• Estimated annual earnings: $35,000-$40,000 (based on performance; excluding bonuses)
