What are the responsibilities and job description for the Professional Mover/Driver position at Midwest Moving Company?
We are seeking a physically fit, timely, and responsible individual to move household goods by loading the items from a customer’s house into a box truck and semi-trailer. Movers and drivers are responsible for ensuring the items are properly handled, packed, and loaded into the truck to avoid any damage to the items. A successful mover must be capable of carrying a minimum of 200lbs; have the stamina to maintain a steady pace throughout the day for up to 12 hours; organizational and creative skills to pack the truck accordingly; and must be able to maintain a professional attitude with the customer at all times.
Mover and Driver Requirements:
- Physically fit
- Handy with tools
- Punctual and professional
- Interpersonal skills to communicate with customers
- High school diploma or equivalent
- MUST HAVE A VALID U.S. DRIVER'S LICENSE AND CLEAN MVR
- MUST BE ABLE TO PASS FMCSA DRUG SCREEN
- MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN USDOT MEDICAL CARD
- MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION
- Experience with delivery scanner software preferred
Responsibilities:
- Drive the truck (drivers must be 21 and older and have a CLEAN motor vehicle record)
- Wrap furniture with protective material
- Load, pack, and unload items with extreme care
- Ensure no items are damaged while moving
- Place furniture in requested places at the new location
- Take inventory of items and ensure that no items are lost during transportation
- Communicate with management and the customer
- Collaborate and work with a team
- Work in inclement weather conditions such as rain, snow, high winds, high heat temperatures (during the summer)
- Available for part-time route delivery
Schedule:
- Looking for individual with flexible schedule willing to work 20-40 hours per week
- Day shift Monday to Saturday
- May get Overtime
- Must be willing to work on weekends
- May be willing to work past 5pm if the move goes longer than expected
- Must be willing to occassionally travel

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)

License/Certification:
- Must have a valid Driver's License - Required

Criteria for sign-on bonus: Work for 3 months, or 240 hours with us. Whichever comes sooner.
