Position: Metal Fabrication Estimator I
Metal Fabrication Estimator I is responsible for estimating metal fabricated sub-components and weldments for various industries. This position reports to and assists the Lead Estimator and is based in Windsor, MO.
Qualifications:
· Able to read prints and specifications to create a qualified document.
· Must have a working knowledge of welding processes.
· Must have a working knowledge of fabrication processes, including forming.
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
· Must be a motivated self-starter.
· Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills, both internally and externally.
· Must be professional in appearance and speech.
· Must be willing to work overtime as required to complete the request for quote.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum of 3 years, experience in a fabrication shop.
· Minimum of 1 year in estimating/quoting fabrication projects.
Responsibilities:
· Prepares quotes by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications and other related documents.
· Calculates cost of labor, material and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, specifications and other related documents.
· Clarifies discrepancies in request for quote by following up with the customer.
· Presents prepared estimate by assembling and inputting information into the Paperless Parts quoting software system.
· Prepares a quote that details the request for quote including any clarifications, exceptions and/or deviations from what was requested including but not limited to material specifications, finish requirements, tolerances and so on.
· Sends quotes to customers in a timely manner.
· Works with and follows up with the sales team to ensure details of the quote are understood and communicated to the customer.
· Works with and follows up with internal departments to ensure they have the required information needed to move forward with an order.
· May visit customers in order to build strong working relationships.
· May visit suppliers to ensure their capabilities are fully understood.
· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establish professional work-related networks and take online training as required.
· Contributes to team effort by completing other tasks as assigned by the Lead Estimator.
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
