Janitor/Cleaner

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to join our team and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks across different areas, ensuring sanitation standards are met and facilities are kept in top condition. Duties

• Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors across all designated areas.
• Clean windows using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure clear visibility and aesthetic appeal.
• Handle waste disposal efficiently, including emptying trash bins and managing recycling procedures.
• Use specialized cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Apply proper chemical handling procedures when using cleaning agents, disinfectants, and sanitizers to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations.
• Conduct sanitation of restrooms, kitchens, and common areas following infection control protocols.
• Assist with laundry services when required, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens or uniforms.
• Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and ensure all equipment is in good working order.
• Follow safety guidelines by properly using personal protective equipment (PPE) during all cleaning activities.
• Support heavy lifting tasks safely when moving furniture or large cleaning supplies.
• Perform exterior cleaning tasks such as pressure washing building exteriors or walkways as needed.

Skills

• Proven janitorial or custodial experience with knowledge of commercial cleaning standards.
• Strong manual handling skills for lifting heavy objects safely.
• Expertise in window cleaning techniques for various types of glass surfaces.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment including pressure washers, floor buffers, vacuums, and chemical dispensers.
• Knowledge of sanitation practices and infection control procedures to promote a healthy environment.
• Ability to handle chemicals safely by following proper handling protocols and wearing PPE at all times.
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance of cleanliness standards.
• Good customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical stamina throughout shifts.
• Experience with laundry services including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens or uniforms is a plus.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
