Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician

Midwest Eye Care is looking for an Ophthalmic Assistant at our locations Omaha (13500 California Street / 4353 Dodge Street), Council Bluffs (715 Harmony Street) and Fremont (2827 N. Clarkson Street).

Fulltime Hours – 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday thru Friday

In this role WE provide the training so that YOU are prepared to:

·         Review and document eye and medical history.

·         Perform a variety of routine tests including intraocular pressures and refracting.

·         Dilate eyes for exams.

·         Assist the physician during diagnostic and minor surgical procedures, including instrumentation, sterile preparations and documentation.

·         Prepare and position patient for diagnostic tests and procedures.

·         Assist the physician with patient education pertaining to the treatment prescribed.

·         Record patient charges for billing department.

·          Answer phones and return patient phone calls.

·         Travel to rural clinics throughout Nebraska and Iowa.
