Duties
- Install replacement windows and exterior entry doors in existing residential homes.
- Remove existing windows and doors while minimizing damage to surrounding finishes.
- Measure, level, square, and properly align windows and doors for a precise fit.
- Install and secure frames using manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Apply flashing, insulation, sealants, and weatherproofing materials to prevent air and water infiltration.
- Install interior and exterior trim, casing, and finishing materials for a clean, professional appearance.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret work orders, installation instructions, and project specifications.
- Load, unload, transport, and organize installation materials and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site throughout each project.
- Inspect completed installations to ensure proper operation, weather resistance, and quality workmanship.
- Troubleshoot and correct installation issues as needed.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding the installation process and answer basic questions.
- Work as part of a crew to complete projects on schedule while maintaining high quality standards.
- Follow OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies, including proper use of ladders, scaffolding, and personal protective equipment.
- Protect customer property by using drop cloths, coverings, and careful work practices.
- Perform final cleanup and debris removal upon project completion.
- Report material shortages, damaged products, or job-site concerns to the project manager or supervisor.
Experience
- Proven construction site experience with a focus on window or door installation.
- Hands-on experience with glass materials handling, fabrication, and installation techniques.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as saws, drills, levels, caulking guns, and other power tools necessary for precise installation.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes and quality control standards related to measurements.
