Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform advanced maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
- Completes repairs in a variety of weather conditions and locations
- Use diagnostic tools and technical schematics to troubleshoot complex issues
- Document services accurately and ensuring timely completion of work orders
- Order necessary parts with precision and accuracy
- Provide excellent customer service and interact professionally with customers, co-workers, and managers
- Meet time requirement guidelines and maintain efficiency levels
- Escalate unresolved issues to Technical Communicators for further research and assistance
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Maintain and care for all tools and service truck
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and/or Qualifications
- Ability to read complex hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Basic computer skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
- Detail oriented
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
- Must provide your own hand tools required to perform work efficiently
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
- Have a current DOT medical card or have the ability to obtain one
- Must be 21 years of age
Working Conditions
- Must be able to carry, push, and lift up to 60lbs
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, grip, and grab as needed
- Must be able to ascend and descend large machinery
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Able to be around dust, grease, and other elements commonly found on construction and industrial worksites
- Able to work in all types of weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, and dirt)
- Travel as assigned for training or to perform work at other locations, with possible overnight stays when required
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- 4 or more years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or experience with similar diesel equipment, Komatsu and/or Takeuchi experience is a plus
- Experience driving a Class 4 or higher vehicle
